The product from step b), diastereomer 1 (1.4 g, 4.3 mmol) was dissolved in 12 M HCl (10 mL) and was stirred at 80° C. for 12 hours. The reaction mix then was cooled to room temperature and evaporated to dryness to afford the subtitle compound. MS calculated for C17H19NO2S+H: 302, observed: 302.
