Beginning with 4.0 gm (22.0 mMol) 6-trifluoromethyl-1H-indole and 6.6 gm (43.0 mMol) 4-piperidone hydrochloride monohydrate, 3.7 gm (64%) of the title compound were recovered as a white solid.
