Procedure
1.16 g (2.89 mmol) of 3-({3-chloro-4-[(3-isopropyl-1H-indol-5-yl)oxy]-5-methyl-phenyl}amino)-3-oxopropionic acid (Example 6) are dissolved in 15 ml of THF and treated dropwise at 0° C. with 5.67 ml of a 0.51 molar potassium hydroxide solution. The reaction mixture is stirred for one hour and the solvent is then removed in vacuo. By co-evaporation with toluene, 1.25 g (99% of theory) of potassium 3-({3-chloro-4-[(3-isopropyl-1H-indol-5-yl)oxy]-5-methylphenyl}-amino)-3-oxopropanoate are obtained
Workup
