Procedure

A solution of 2-{[3-({[(5-methoxy-1,3-thiazol-2-yl)carbamoyl]amino}sulfonyl)-1-methyl-1H-indol-7-yl]oxy}ethyl acetate (0.065 g) in THF (10 mL) was treated with 2N sodium carbonate (2 mL) and 2N sodium hydroxide (2 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at rt for 60 h and acidified to about pH 4. The organic solvent were slowly evaporated, leaving back a solid, which was filtered, washed and dried to obtain the title compound (0.055 g) as a brownish solid. MS (ISN): m/e 425.3 (M−H)−
