To a solution of 2-[(3-methylbutyl)oxy]-8-methoxy-9-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)-9H-purin-6-amine (210 mg) in dry MeOH (2.1 mL) was added TFA (0.21 ml) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 24 h. The reaction was concentrated in vacuo to give a yellow residue which was triturated with Et2O (15 mL) and filtered under reduced pressure to give the title compound as an off-white solid (143 mg).
