Palladium on carbon (10%, 0.08 g) was added to solution of 5-morpholin-4-ylmethyl-2-(4-nitro-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)1H-benzimidazole (0.82 g, 2.5 mmol) in DMF (30 ml) under an atmosphere of nitrogen. The mixture was shaken under a hydrogen atmosphere for 4 h then filtered through celite, washing with methanol. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to give 3-(5-morpholin-4-ylmethyl-1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-1H-pyrazol-4-ylamine as a brown solid (530 mg, 71%). (LC/MS: Rt 1.94, [M+H]+ 299).
