To a solution of 3.41 g of 11β-[4-(3-hydroxypropyl)phenyl]estra-4.9-diene-3,17-dione prepared to preparation 1 in 30 ml of CH2Cl2, under inert atmosphere and at ambient temperature, 1.53 ml of TEA and 0.72 ml of sulfonyl methane chloride in solution in 2 ml of CH2Cl2 is added whilst maintaining the temperature at 0-5° C. and stirring at this temperature. After washing and drying it is evaporated under reduced pressure until 4.15 g of expected raw product is obtained.
