To a cooled (0° C.) solution of (S)-9-tert-butoxycarbonylamino-3-cyclohexylmethoxy-6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-5H-benzocycloheptene-2-carboxylic acid amide (198 mg, 0.475 mmol) in DCM (1 mL) was added TFA (1 mL). After 10 min, the reaction was allowed to warm to rt and after 1 h, the reaction was evaporated to dryness. The material was used without further purification for the next step.
