Procedure
To a solution of 2.4 (43 mg, 0.073 mmol) in DCM was added TFA (10.8 μL, 0.145 mmol). The resulting solution was stirred at room temperature. After 18 hours, additional TFA (0.145 mmol) was introduced. After 30 hours, the reaction was concentrated. The material was brought up in MeOH (2 mL) and filtered through a Si-carbonate cartridge to give 2 in 89% yield. 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ ppm 1.86 (br. s., 1H) 2.31 (s, 3H) 2.79-3.07 (m, 2H) 3.25-3.37 (m, 1H) 3.40-3.54 (m, 2H) 3.75-3.97 (m, 10H) 4.09-4.22 (m, 1H) 4.39 (d, J=5.41 Hz, 2H) 6.10 (d, J=6.14 Hz, 1H) 6.87 (s, 2H) 7.11 (s, 4H) 7.26-7.34 (m, 1H) 8.00 (d, J=5.99 Hz, 1H); M+H 493.25580.
