Procedure
2,6-Dichloroquinoxaline (0.500 g, 2.5 mmol) was dissolved in DMSO (10 mL) at RT and N-methyl-1-phenylmethanamine (1.53 g, 12.56 mmol) was added to the reaction mixture. The reaction mixture was stirred at RT for 16 hrs. After completion of reaction (checked by TLC), water (100 mL) was added to the reaction mixture and it was extracted with ethyl acetate (50 mL×3). The organic layer was washed with water (10 mL), brine (10 mL) and dried over Na2SO4. The organic layer was concentrated under vacuum to give the crude product.
