4M HCl in dioxane (20 ml) was added to a solution of Tert-butyl 4-(5-(1-methyl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)pyridin-2-yl)-5,6-dihydropyridine-1(2H)-carboxylate (4BX) (4 g, 11.67 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (50 ml) at room temperature. The mixture was stirred for 3 hours then solvent was evaporated yielding title product as a white solid (3.8 g).
