2 M Aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (0.32 mL) was added dropwise to a solution of tert-butyl (6SR,7RS)-6-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-7-[(2-ethoxy-2-oxoethoxy)methyl]-1,4-oxazepane-4-carboxylate (150 mg) in ethanol (5 mL), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 30 min. Water was added to the reaction mixture, and the mixture was washed with diethyl ether. The obtained aqueous layer was neutralized with 1 M hydrochloric acid, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with brine, and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure to give the title compound.
