Procedure

To a solution of aluminum chloride (190 mg) in THF (4.0 mL) was added lithium aluminum hydride (203 mg) under ice-cooling, and the mixture was stirred for 40 min. To this reaction solution was added dropwise a solution of tert-butyl (6RS,7RS)-7-(cyanomethyl)-6-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,4-oxazepane-4-carboxylate (550 mg) obtained in Example 483, step A in THF (4.0 ml), and the mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 1 hr under an argon atmosphere. To the reaction solution was added aqueous sodium sulfate solution, and the mixture was stirred for 1 hr, and filtered through celite. The solvent of the filtrate was evaporated under reduced pressure to give the title compound (404 mg).
