A three necked round bottom flask (100 ml) was charged with Raltegravir free hydroxy (5 g), ethanol (45 ml) and water (5 ml) to obtain a mixture. The mixture was heated to 40° C. and tert-butylamine (1300 μl) was added dropwise. There was almost dissolution and heavy precipitation subsequently occurred. The precipitate was filtered under reduced pressure and dried overnight in a vacuum oven at 55° C. The resulting product was characterised by XRPD.
