Procedure

A mixture of methyl 2-(2-(2-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)phenoxy)ethyl)benzoate (30 mg, 0.093 mmol) and methylamine (2M, 3.3 mL, 6.51 mmol) in methanol was heated at 70° C. for 7 days. Methanol was removed under reduced pressure the crude product was purified by flash column chromatography to afford the desired product as a yellow solid (11 mg, 0.034 mmol, 37%). 1H NMR (CD3OD): 2.69 (s, 3H), 3.29 (t, 2H, J=6.4 Hz), 4.36 (t, 2H, J=6.4 Hz), 6.96 (dt, 1H, J=7.6 Hz, 1.2 Hz), 7.04 (d, 1H, J=8 Hz), 7.17-7.41 (m, 6H), 7.63 (s, 1H), 7.76 (s, 1H).
