To 3-(6-Chloro-pyridin-3-ylmethyl)-1-triisopropylsilanyl-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine (6, 54.0 mg, 0.000135 mol, prepared as described in Example 2) in Tetrahydrofuran (4.0 mL) were added [1,1′-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene]-dichloropalladium(II) (23.0 mg) and Isopropylmagnesium Chloride (0.15 mL, 2.0M in Tetrahydrofuran). The reaction was stirred at 20° C. under an atmosphere of Nitrogen for 3 hours. The reaction mixture was poured into water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried over sodium sulfate, concentrated and purified by silica gel column chromatography eluting with 10% methanol in dichloromethane to give compound 39 (38 mg, 70.4%).
