3,5-Dihydroxy benzoic acid ethyl ester (1.45 g, 7.95 mmol) and 3-bromomethyl-benzonitrile (6.23 g, 31.8 mmol) and other reagents as described in Example 75(a) were used to afford 2.3 g of the required product. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6): 1.15 (3H, t), 4.15 (2H, q), 5.3 (4H, s), 7.0 (1H, s), 7.18 (2H, s), 7.64 (4H, d), 7.86 (4H, d).
