A solution of 4 M hydrogen chloride/ethyl acetate (10 mL) was added dropwise to a solution of diastereomer of tert-butyl [(1S)-2-({6-[6-(methoxymethoxy)-2-methyl-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-2-yl]pyridin-3-yl}oxy)-1-methylethyl]carbamate (1000 mg) in ethyl acetate (20 mL) at room temperature. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3 hr. The resulting precipitate was collected by filtration to give the title compound (650 mg).
