The crude {4-[5-(4-chloro-benzyl)-7-propoxy-oxazolo[5,4-d]pyrimidin-2-yl]-2,6-dimethyl-phenoxy}-acetic acid tert-butyl ester obtained in step (a) was dissolved in trifluoroacetic acid and stirred for 3 h at room temperature. After addition of water the precipitate was isolated by filtration to yield 1.3 g of the crude title compound. 500 mg thereof were purified by preparative HPLC (method HPLC1) to yield 260 mg of the pure title compound.
