A suspension of 6-[3-(5-fluoro-2-methoxy-phenyl)-ureido]-3,4-dihydro-1H-isoquinoline-2-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (1.20 g) obtained in Example (22a) and 4 N hydrochloric acid (1,4-dioxane solution, 10 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 15 hours and diluted with diisopropyl ether. The precipitate was collected by filtration and dried to obtain the title compound (1.20 g, 94%) as a light beige solid.
