Reaction Steps
A mixture of 0.7 g of 5-[4-(4-t-butoxycarbonylmethoxyimino-6-hydroxy-2,5,7,8-tetramethylchroman -2ylmethoxy)benzyl]thiazolidine-2,4-dione (prepared as described in Example 26) and 7 ml of a 4N dioxane solution of hydrogen chloride was allowed to stand at room temperature for 15 hours. At the end of this time, the solvent was distilled off and the residue was washed with warm water to give the title compound, softening at 75°-85° C.
