In 130 ml of acetonitrile were suspended 11.08 g of 2-hydroxymethyl-7-mercapto-5-methyl-s-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine and 15.38 g of 7-aminocephalosporanic acid, and 24.6 ml of boron trifluoride - ethyl ether complex was added thereto and the mixture was stirred at 50° C. for 2 hours. After the reaction mixture was ice-cooled, 300 ml of water was added thereto and pH thereof was adjusted to 2 with conc. aqueous ammonia. The precipitated crystals were collected by filtration, washed with water and with acetone, and then dried to obtain 18.5 of the title compound.
