Procedure

##STR68## Prepared by a method analogous to that of Example 1d) from 1.44 g (3.6 mmol) of 6-[2-(2-phthalimidoethyl)-1H-benzimidazol-5-yl]-4,5-dihydro-5-methyl-3(2H)-pyridazinone and 0.9 ml (18 mmol) of hydrazine hydrate. The crude product is chromatographed on silica gel with methanol/conc. ammonia (99:1). After concentration of the main fraction by evaporation under vacuum and crystallization of the residue from ethanol, 0.55 g (51%) of a colourless solid melting at 178° C. are obtained.
