A solution of 1.44 g (2.84 mmol) of cis-(±)-ethyl-6-[2[5-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-(1-methylethyl)-1-(2-pyridinyl)-1H- pyrazol-4-yl]ethenyl]-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane-4-acetate in 15 ml of ethyl acetate was catalytically reduced under one atmosphere of hydrogen gas in the presence of 20% Pd/C. at 25° C. for four days.
