Procedure

The compound of Example 8 (250 mg, 0.4629 mmol) was dissolved in 2.0 ml of methanol and 694 μl of 1M lithium hydroxide was added. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for about two days. The solvent was removed under vacuum and 20 ml of water was added. The aqueous residue was acidified with 10% hydrochloric acid. Filtration of the resultant suspension yielded the product as white solid.
