The title compound was prepared according to the procedure described in Example 11 Method A by using ethyl (Z)-3-[2-n-butyl-1-{(2-chlorophenyl)methyl}-1H-imidazol-5-yl]-2-propenoate in place of methyl (E)-3-[2-n-butyl-1-{(2-chlorophenyl)methyl}-1H-imidazol-5-yl]-2-propenoate. The title compound had a mp 183°-184° C. The NMR was consistent with a cis or (Z) relationship of the imidazole and carboxyl groups.
