A mixture of 2-amino-5-methylthiazole (1.5 g, 13.0 mmol) and 1-bromo-2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethane (Aldrich, 2.0 mL, 14.5 mmol) was processed as in Example 157A to afford the title compound (2.2 g, 10.9 mmol, 78% yield). 1H NMR (300 MHz, CD3OD) δ ppm 2.29 (d, J=1.36 Hz, 3H) 3.34 (s, 3H) 3.49-3.54 (m, 2H) 3.60-3.66 (m, 2H) 3.80 (t, J=5.10 Hz, 2H) 4.13 (t, J=4.80 Hz, 2H) 6.99-7.04 (m, 1H), MS (DCI/NH3) m/z 217 (M+H)+.
