Procedure
Methyl 4-{4-[2-(benzyloxy)ethyl]piperazin-1-yl}-3-bromobenzoate (78 mg, 0.180 mmol) was dissolved in N,N-dimethylformamide: water=3:1 (1.8 mL). At room temperature, (Z)-propenylboronic acid (containing about 10% E-isomer; Hereinafter the same is used for all) (37 mg, 0.433 mmol), tetrakistriphenylphosphine palladium (10 mg, 0.00902 mmol) and sodium carbonate (76 mg, 0.722 mmol) were added sequentially, and the mixture was stirred at 80° C. for 1 hour under microwave irradiation. The reaction solution was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated in vacuo. The obtained residue was purified by silica-gel column chromatography (hexane/acetone). The title compound (61 mg (yield 86%)) was obtained as a yellow oil.
