A solution of [(S)-1-(1-pyridin-2-yl-cyclopropylcarbamoyl)-ethyl]-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (120 mg, 0.39 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (5 mL) was added 4M HCl in dioxane (0.98 mL, 3.9 mmol). The solution stirred for 4 hours then was concentrated in vacuo to afford crude (S)-2-amino-N-(1-pyridin-2-yl-cyclopropyl)-propionamide dihydrochloride (100 mg, 0.36 mmol).
