10% Palladium on Carbon (50% Wet) (0.09 g), 1-(3-Nitro-7,8-dihydro-6H-5-oxa-9-aza-benzocyclohepten-9-yl)-2-pyrrolidin-1-yl-ethanone (0.262 g, 0.858 mmol), and hydrazine hydrate (0.25 g, 5.0 mmol) in Ethanol (20 mL) was heated at 60° C. for 5 h. The mixture was cooled, filtered through Celite, washing with 50 mL methanol. The filtrate was conc. and azeotroped 3×30 mL toluene to afford 1-(3-Amino-7,8-dihydro-6H-5-oxa-9-aza-benzocyclohepten-9-yl)-2-pyrrolidin-1-yl-ethanone as a white solid (226 mg, 96%). 1H-NMR (CDCl3): 6.95 (d, 1H, J=8.4 Hz), 6.41 (s, 1H), 6.36 (d, 1H, J=8.4 Hz), 4.82 (d, 1H, J=13.2 Hz), 4.39 (d, 1H, J=12.1 Hz), 3.68 (m, 3H), 3.28 (m, 1H), 2.88 (m, 1H), 2.68 (m, 1H), 2.55 (m, 4H), 2.23 (m, 1H), 1.75 (m, 4H), 1.66 (m, 1H).
