Procedure
A solution of 2-amino-3,5-dimethyl-benzamide (573 mg), DIEA (580 mL), and 2,4,5-trichloropyrimidine (660 mg) in DMSO was heated at 65° C. for 4.5 h, then diluted with DCM, washed with brine twice, dried over sodium sulfate, and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by silica gel chromatography to provide 460 mg of 2-(2,5-dichloropyrimidin-4-ylamino)-3,5,N-trimethyl-benzamide: 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 9.3 (bs, 1H), 8.2 (s, 1H), 7.3 (s, 1H), 7.2 (s, 1H), 6.2 (bs, 1H), 3.0 (d, 3H), 2.4 (s, 3H), 2.3 (s, 3H).
