tert-Butyl {(1R,3S)-3-isopropyl-3-[(4-phenyl-3,6-dihydropyridin-1(2H)-yl)carbonyl]-cyclopentyl}carbamate (0.23 g, 0.56 mmol) was dissolved in a 1.0 M solution of HCl in ether (4 mL). After being stirred at room temperature for 2 h, the solution was concentrated to give a colorless oil (170 mg). MS calculated for C20H28N2O: (M+H) 313; found 313.2.
