2,2-Dimethyl-propionic acid (R)-2-[(5-hydroxymethyl-7-nitro-1H-indole-2-carbonyl)-amino]-3-(4-methoxy-benzylsulfanyl)-propyl ester (3.1 g, 6.01 mmol) prepared in Step A of Preparation 41 was dissolved in DCM, to which was added Et3N (1.68 mL, 12.02 mmol). Pivaloyl chloride (0.92 mL, 6.61 mmol) was added thereto, and the mixture was stirred for 12 h at room temperature. After completion of the reaction, the solvent was removed under reduced pressure, and the residue was purified by column chromatography (eluent: EtOAc/n-Hex=1/1) to give the title compound.
