tert-Butyl 1-(3-chlorophenyl)pyrrolidin-3-ylcarbamate (120 mg, 0.404 mmol) in dichloromethane (0.5 ml) was treated with 4 molar hydrogen chloride in dioxane (1011 μL, 4.04 mmol) at ambient temperature in an open flask with rapid stirring. After 4 hours, the reaction was concentrated in vacuo to provide the di-hydrochloride salt of the title compound as a crude solid (122 mg, >100%).
