Methyl 7-(4-((4-chlorophenethyl)carbamoyl)phenoxy)-3,4-dihydro-2H-chromene-4-carboxylate was dissolved in THF (3 mL) and methanol (3 mL) and treated with 1N NaOH (3 mL), and the reaction was stirred for 1 hour. The reaction was diluted with CH2Cl2 (25 mL) and washed with 2N HCl (25 mL), dried over magnesium sulfate and concentrated. The residue was purified by silica gel chromatography, eluting with a gradient of 0.5% MeOH/CH2Cl2 containing 0.5% acetic acid to 7.5% MeOH/CH2Cl2 containing 0.5% acetic acid to provide the title compound (0.056 g, 37.8% yield) as a white solid. MS (ESI)=452.1 (M+1).
