Tert-butyl N-[trans-[4-[2-[4-(2-tert-butyl-6-cyclobutyl-pyrimidin-4-yl)piperazin-1-yl]ethyl]cyclohexyl]carbamate (11.20 g, 22.41 mmol) was dissolved in HCl/ethyl acetate (150 mL). The resulting solution was stirred at about 25° C. for 16 h. Solvent was removed under reduced pressure to provide the title compound (8.9 g, 21.16 mmol, 94% yield) as a colorless solid.
