Procedure

methyl 4-(5-phenylimidazo[2,1-b][1,3,4]thiadiazol-6-yl)benzoate (0.25 g, 0.77 mM) is dissolved in 25 mL DCM. To this is added DIBAL (5 eq) at RT. The reaction mixture is stirred for 20 min. The reaction mixture is diluted with DCM and the organic layer is washed with water. The organic layer is dried and concentrated to obtain the desired compound as a white solid.
