2-Chloro-3-(2,4-dioxothiazolidin-5-ylidene-methyl)quinoline and thiophenol (1.2 eq) were mixed with ethoxyethanol and heated to reflux under N2 for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool to RT, ether was added and bright-yellow precipitate was filtered off, washed several times with ether, air dried for 24 hrs at RT to give pure product (Yield-36%).
