Procedure

HCl(g) was bubbled through a solution of [1-(7-chloro-thieno[3,2-b]pyridine-2-carbonyl)-pyrrolidin-3-yl]-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (0.472 g, 1.23 mmol) in MeOH (10 mL). After 10 min, TLC (CH2Cl2/MeOH 9:1) showed the reaction to be complete. The reaction mixture was poured into Et2O (50 mL), and a white precipitate formed. The white solid was collected by filtration and washed with Et2O to afford the title compound. MS: 281.0/283.0 (MH+); HPLC Rf; 3.02 min; HPLC purity: 99%.
