4-Chloro-1-guanidino-7-isoquinolinesulphonamide (30 mg, 0.10 mmol) was dissolved in a solution of EtOH saturated with HCl gas (2.0 mL) and the mixture stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The solvents were evaporated in vacuo and the residue was azeotroped with CH2Cl2 to give 4-chloro-1-guanidino-7-isoquinolinesulphonamide hydrochloride (32 mg, 0.095 mmol) as a white solid.
