The obtained 2,4-dichloro-6-morpholino-1,3,5-triazine (6.0 g, 25mmol) dissolved in DMF (100 ml) was cooled to −5° C., added with anhydrous pottasium carbonate (5 g, 36 mmol) and benzimidazole (3.0 g, 35 mmol), stirred for 30 minutes and further stirred at room temperature for 15 hours. The reaction mixture was added with water (500 ml). The precipitated crystals were collected by filtration, washed with trace amount of acetone and dried to obtain 5.2 g (yield: 64%) of 2-(benzimidazol-1-yl)-4-chloro-6-morpholino-1,3,5-triazine with melting point of 201° C.-203° C. as colorless crystals.
