Procedure

According to the same procedure as in Example 1(2) to (3), using 3-(3-cyclopentyloxy-4-methoxyphenyl)-2,2-dimethyl-3-hydroxypropiononitrile instead of 3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-3-hydroxypropiononitrile, the above-described compound (yield 54.3%) was obtained as a colorless oil.
