Reaction Steps
According to the same procedure as in Example 1(2) to (3), using 2,2-dimethyl-3-hydroxy-3-[3-(2-indanyloxy)-4-methoxyphenyl]propiononitrile instead of 3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-3-hydroxypropiononitrile, the above-described compound (yield 75.9%) was obtained as an off white solid.
