Procedure

Cyclobutylamine (2 ml) was added to 4-amino-5-cyano-2-(4-fluorosulphonylanilino) pyrimidine (Method 1; 250 mg, 0.853 mmol), the mixture was heated at 40° C. for 1 hour and then stirred at ambient temperature for 18 hours. The volatiles were removed by evaporation and residue was purified by chromatography on silica gel eluting with ethyl acetate/hexane (50:50). The product was triturated with ether/hexane and the resulting solid collected by filtration to give the title compound (91 mg, 31%). NMR: 1.41-1.50 (m, 2H); 1.62-1.78 (m, 2H); 1.82-1.90 (m, 2H); 3.59 (m, 1H); 7.60 (s, 2H); 7.62 (d, 2H); 7.98 (d, 2H); 8.40 (s, 1H); m/z: 345 (MH)+.
