Procedure
To a solution of ethyl 3-(2,4-dichlorobenzyl)-2-methylpyrrolo[3,2-b]pyridine-1-carboxylate (400 mg) in chloroform (6 ml) was added m-chloroperbenzoic acid (462 mg) at room temperature, and the mixture was stirred overnight. The reaction mixture was subjected to flash silica gel chromatography (silica gel, 40 ml, eluted with ethyl acetate and then with ethyl acetate-methanol=10-1), and crystallized from ether to give the objective compound (417 mg) as colorless crystals.
Workup
- washeluted with ethyl acetate
- customwith ethyl acetate-methanol=10-1), and crystallized from ether
