Procedure
Pyridinium L-ascorbate 2-sulfate is a dimorphic crystalline solid with m.p. 119°-120.5° or 133°-4°, [α]D25 + 40° (c 1.0, water). The nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum of the compound gave the correct proportion of aromatic to ascorbic acid protons for the monopyridinium salt.
