Procedure

To a solution of 14.1 g of 2-aminopyridine in 180 ml of xylene is added a solution of 24.0 g of o-bromophenyl chloromethyl sulfide in 40 ml of xylene. The mixture is heated at 90°-95° for about 15 hours to give about 27.3 g of the named compound, mp about 199°-201°.
