Reaction Steps

4-(5-Chloro-3-hydroxyspiro[indan-1,3'-pyrrolidin]-1'-yl)-p-fluorobutyrophenone is reacted with methyl isocyanate in chloroform in a manner analogous to that described in Example 19. Reaction time 24 hours at the boil. The hydrogen fumarate of the title compound has a M.P. of 151°-153° (from ethanol/ether).
