Procedure

A solution of 3-(3-ethoxy-1,2,5-thiadiazol-4-yl)pyridine (0.90 g, 4.3 mmol) and ethyl iodide (2.03 g, 13 mmol) in acetone (4 ml) was stirred at 400C for 16 h. The precipitate was collected by filtration giving the title compound to yield 1.34 g (86%).
