2-[2-[3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)phenylsulfonamido]-4-trifluoromethylphenoxy]benzoic acid (0.1 g, 0.17 mmol) was dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (5 mL) and stirred under argon at room temperature. A 1M solution of borane (0.5 mL, 0.5 mmol) was added and the mixture was stirred for 16 h. Evaporation of the solvent followed by aqueous workup and flash chromatography (silica gel, ethyl acetate/hexane); and then recrystallization provided the title compound as a white crystalline solid; mp 123°-125° C.
